Washington’s International War on Drugs has lasted over 40 years and has done very little to address the real problem. Fought on numerous fronts, it has left unsolved its main issues: the addiction problem and the economic incentives of the black market.
Illegal drugs are cheaper and more available. Addictions have not decreased in the US. Mexico is fighting a lost war against an extremely rich foreign drug market; powerful enough to corrupt authorities on both sides, deflect attention from the real solutions and leave the dead, the wounded and the terrorized on this side of the border.
Is anyone willing to accept the facts and lead the paradigm shift?
